I've always loved creative bridesmaid proposals. For example, my bestie Cate asked her maids with a beautiful, hand stained wooden box with our names painted on the lid and all the details for the big day inside. I knew I had to do something similarly sweet, so I scoured Pinterest for ideas. Brit + Co proved to be a good resource, but there wasn't anything I was particularly drawn to. Then I saw this adorable quote, and everything clicked into place. (Although I do actually hope my diamond lasts forever! It was my mom's <3) But to me, the memories I make with my best friends are the things no one can take from me.
I got these totes from Beverly's and some i-Dye brand dye in gunmetal. My colors are technically lavenders and lilacs, but the purple dye just seemed too aggressive. I love that these came out looking like denim, or the indigo shibori trend that's super in right now. The lettering is hand painted on each bag in copper acrylic. Every bag is unique, made with lots of love for each recipient!
Don't get me wrong - I'm obsessed with the wedding cards out there, especially Rifle Paper and bhdln - but once the custom ball started rolling, I couldn't stop! Using the same copper acrylic (it's just the best) I created matching cards with a phrase I liked better than simply "will you be my bridesmaid?" It allowed me to really personalize the question to each girl.
Inside the bags, I put clip boards that I customized with a little spray paint and designed instructions on how to pick a dress, venue information, bridal party list, and other details. It helped keep everything nice and organized. Each girl also received a bottle of nail polish from Urban Outfitters with the color I wanted them to wear, and the rose gold sandals I'd picked for everyone.
If you have another genius idea for asking your best gal pals, drop me a line! I'd love to hear it.
